Club Grading

So that we can group shooters of similar ability for our Club aggregate competitions we have a Club grading system. Please note that the Club grade may not necessarily be the same as a BFTA grade.

For those members who have a BFTA card their BFTA grade can be seen on the BFTA website.

At the end of each year a shooter's percentage points from each round of both Club Aggregate and Head to Head competitions will be totalled, and then divided by the total number of rounds they have shot, to give an average percentage score. This will be the basis for allocating grades for the following year.

The current grading bands are as follows:
                                                                                 Grade A - 85 to 100%
                                                                                 Grade B - 0 to 84.99%
                                                                                 Open       - Ungraded

Members who, for whatever reason, choose not to take kneelers or standers may choose to shoot  in the Open Class.   Open Class also permits the use of a stick or tripod. Scores from this class will not be included in the Club Aggregate but, in time, they will be included in a separate Leaderboard.  Members shooting in Open Class will be included in the Head to Head competition as there are no kneelers or standers anyway.

For the Club Aggregate competition, awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each grade. Our Head to Head competition is not graded, so awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places overall.
